As you know, our friend Cindy Hughart-Hill has been battling breast cancer (Invasive Ductal Carcinoma , Stage IV ) since August, 2005. She has been undergoing chemotherapy (currently Abraxane and Herceptin ) for just a little over a year. This is the second time Cindy has had cancer; in 1997 she was diagnosed with a rare, synovial sarcoma from which she completely recovered. As friends, we’d like to reach out and extend a helping hand to both Cindy and Cregg. Many of you have asked how you can help so we’ve decided to offer some suggestions that would make life just a little bit easier.
Besides the cancer, Cindy has also been experiencing serious depression. In fact, she told me today that the cancer almost seems like a non-issue compared to the depression. She can’t "see" or feel the cancer but the chemotherapy wipes her out and causes mood swings, fatigue, and depression. She does a lot of crying and at times has trouble just dealing with day to day chores such as grocery shopping and doing simple things around the house and yard.
We're hoping that if we all stay in touch through this website we can provide support for both Cregg and Cindy during this difficult time. Take a look around the site and thanks for visiting!
